West Ham United registered their first win of the Premier League season after defeating Huddersfield Town 2-0 at the London Stadium.
Slaven Bilic handed Andy Carroll his first start of the season and he partnered Javier Hernandez and Michail Antonio in the attack.
West Ham threatened early on and nearly went ahead after 12 minutes when Michail Antonio's cross found Javier Hernandez, who hit the crossbar from close range.
The hosts went close once again in the 26th minute but Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossi was well positioned to save James Collins' header.
The game evened out for the final 15 minutes of the half, but neither side could carve out a clear-cut opening.
The second half started in the same vein as the first with West Ham enjoying a lot of the possession without creating any chances.
With the hosts struggling to create opportunities, Bilic introduced Andre Ayew for Hernandez on 64 minutes.
West Ham eventually broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute through Pedro Obiang's strike that took a major deflection and wrong-footed Lossi.
Five minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage through Ayew, who slotted from inside the six-yard area, following a corner.
Huddersfield did go close pulling a goal back in the final 10 minutes as Tom Ince hit the crossbar with a curling effort, however West Ham managed to hold for the 2-0 win.
