Theo Hernandez says Real Madrid are desperate to have Cristiano Ronaldo back from suspension

Posted: 10 September 2017 Time: 20:00

Real Madrid defender Theo Hernandez says they need Cristiano Ronaldo 'to score goals' after they dropped points for the second straight game.

Los Blancos had to settle for a point for the second successive game in La Liga, after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Levante at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Zinedine Zidane's charges have now slipped four points behind rivals Barcelona, but Ronaldo still has one game left on his suspension.

"We tried hard throughout and our intensity was there as always but we just couldn't make the most of our chances," Hernandez told reporters after the game.

"Maybe we did lack a little spark but we gave everything. We do need Cristiano to score goals but we don't necessarily need a No. 9.

"The squad will continue as it is."

Ronaldo is expected to return to the line-up on Wednesday when Los Blancos face APOEL in their openinng UEFA Champions League tie.
