Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo believes MTN8 final is well within their reach

Posted: 10 September 2017 Time: 13:00

Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo is positive that they’ll do well today and qualify for the final of the MTN8, but first they’ll need to overpower Cape Town City who are standing in their way.

Wits will be looking to avenge their MTN8 semi-final first-leg loss with a win against City today. The two sides will meet at the Bidvest Stadium at 15h00.

“We have to keep positive. Losing 1-0 in the first leg [in Cape Town] is not that bad. We have to make sure that we don’t concede and we create chances and score,” Hlatshwayo tells

Hlatshwayo adds that they haven’t worked on any new tactics with coach Gavin Hunt ahead of this mouth-watering clash.

“Nothing tactically, but it’s more like making sure that we are switched on, we are concentrating. It’s still 1-0 in both games. We conceded in a set-piece which is our strength.

“We need to focus the entire game. We are not happy to have conceded the goal there way we did.”

SuperSport United have qualified for the final after beating Maritzburg United 2-0 at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday night.

Matsatsantsa won the game 3-1 on aggregate and have a shot at glory again after winning the Nedbank Cup title in June.
