KickOff.com has gathered that Maritzburg United's latest signing Yazid Atouba is available for the MTN8 showdown with SuperSport United on Saturday night.
This website revealed the Cameroonian midfielder's transfer deadline day arrival from DR Congo giants AS Vita Club last week Thursday.
The 24-year-old, who scored against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League group stages in July, is viewed as a replacement for ex-Maritzburg captain Kurt Lentjies, who left to join Chippa United.
"The Cameroonian [Atouba] is ready for Saturday and he's available for selection...but he is not guaranteed of game-time," said club chairman Farook Kadodia.
Meanwhile, Kenyan defender Brian Onyango, who has missed all four matches this season, is still waiting for his permanent residence papers. He has been in South Africa since 2012.
However, Ghana goalkeeper Richards Ofori, who was recently recruited from Wa All Stars in his homeland in Ghana, is back from FIFA World Cup qualifying duty.
Ofori was in goal when Kwesi Appiah's side were held to a 1-1 draw by Congo-Brazzaville in Kumasi last Friday, and in the 5-1 win in the return leg in Brazzaville on Tuesday.
Maritzburg will host Eric Tinkler's side in the second leg of the MTN8 semi-finals at Harry Gwala Stadium, having played to a 1-1 draw in the first duel in Tshwane.
