Mikel hungry for World Cup ticket

Nigeria’s Mikel John Obi would like the Super Eagles to become the first African country to book at spot at next year’s Fifa World Cup in Russia.
They have a chance of sealing a spot at the major competition when they take on Cameroon in a Group B qualifier in Yaounde on Monday. Kick-off is 19h00 SA time.
The Super Eagles ran riot in a 4-0 victory over the African champions Cameroon in Uyo on Friday, taking their tally of goals to nine in three group matches. It was Nigeria’s biggest ever victory over Cameroon and it will no doubt give them reason to believe that they can hammer the Indomitable Lions this evening.
The victory took Nigeria to nine points in the group, five ahead of second-placed Zambia who beat Algeria 3-1 in Lusaka on Saturday. If Nigeria win today, and Zambia fail to beat Algeria in Constantine on Tuesday, then Nigeria will have their name in the pot for the World Cup draw.
Mikel was on the score sheet for the Nigerians against Cameroon and says they are eager to carry on where they left off against the Indomitable Lions.
“We are just very keen to finish what we started. We started a job in Uyo and it is time to finish it. If we can pick the World Cup ticket by Monday, why wait any longer?
“We are all very confident, because we know our ability and what we are ready to bring to the party,” he told the Nigerian Football Federation's website.
“We are as hungry, perhaps even more hungry than they are. It will be a tough affair but we will give our very best to take the three points.”
