Barcelona considering Thomas Lemar swoop after Arsenal's failed pursuit of France international

Posted: 3 September 2017 Time: 12:00

Barcelona will reportedly turn their attentions to Monaco forward Thomas Lemar if Liverpool continue to refuse to sell Philippe Coutinho.

Barca are keen on securing the services of the Reds’ Brazil international following the shock €222m exit of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain in August.

However, Liverpool are refusing to allow their star attacker to depart Anfield, having rejected an improved €150m bid from Barcelona for Coutinho.

And with Barca having seen Monaco accept a £92m offer from Arsenal for Lemar, only for the player to turn down a move to north London, the Spanish giants are believed to now be considering a swoop for the France international.

However, any deal would have to be revisited in January, with the European summer transfer period having come to an end last week.
