Rivaldo Coetzee was reportedly arrested for speeding on the eve of signing for Mamelodi Sundowns last night.
According to Daily Voice and IOL, the defender was driving at 198km/h on the N1 highway in Cape Town at 21h55.
Coetzee was said to be rushing to Goodwood Police Station to certify documents needed for his new contract at Sundowns following his transfer deadline day switch from Ajax Cape Town.
The 20-year-old allegedly appeared at Goodwood Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of excessive speeding, with the case postponed to Tuesday.
Coetzee was called up for Bafana Bafana's 2018 World Cup qualifier with Cape Verde in Praia tonight, but a foot injury ruled him out of the contest and also cost him a move to Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic.
