Platinum Stars striker Bongi Ntuli is hoping to prove his worth at Dikwena this season after Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane told him he is not in his plans.

Despite being loaned out for the third time to Stars by Sundowns, Ntuli still has a two-year contract with the African champions and has to continue playing elsewhere even though his parent club has no space for him.

“It’s what I have been fighting for with my agent Mandla to go back because we spoke to coach Pitso and he said I am not in his plans, so I asked to get loaned out to teams that want me. So my agent and I discussed that I join Platinum Stars,” said Ntuli, who was registered at the PSL offices on transfer deadline day.

It is known to be difficult for players to leave Sundowns permanently and it remains a mystery why the club opts to hold on to players with limited opportunities. Others who are currently left to stick it out at Chloorkop include goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni and defender Kwanda Mngonyama.

"As long as I play, I am happy," he added. "Platinum Stars is a team I am happy with because they play me. It’s frustrating, but I do believe I will find a [permanent] team where I will play."

The 26-year-old is hopeful of repaying the faith Dikwena have shown in him, and targets double figures in his third loan spell in Rustenburg.

"As a striker, you need to score. Maybe if I can get 10 [goals]," he said.

Ntuli also had the chance to join AmaZulu on loan, but the deal did not materialise.

"My agent spoke to the managers at AmaZulu, but I don’t know what happened."

Ntuli was previously sent out on loan to Usuthu in his first season with Sundowns in 2014/2015.
