Bidvest Wits rule out any chance of selling Phakamani Mahlambi to a PSL rival

Bidvest Wits CEO Jose Ferreira has confirmed that a move for star midfielder Phakamani Mahlambi to a PSL club in the current transfer window is out of the question.

"There's been a lot of interest both locally and from overseas, but there's been nothing concrete for Phakamani," Ferreira said at the PSL offices in Johannesburg on Thursday evening.

"At this stage, it seems the more interesting offers are coming from overseas."

Recent reports have suggested the 19-year-old could be on his way to African giants Al Ahly, with the transfer window in Egypt still open until September 14.

When asked if a move to a league where the window is still open could materialise, Ferreira responded: "Maybe."

Meanwhile, Ferreira also confirmed that Wits' transfer business has officially come to a close following Sifiso Myeni's loan move to SuperSport United.
