Orlando Pirates defender Nkosinathi Mthiyane says he is up for the challenge of fighting for a place at The Bucs following his return from a half-season loan spell at Golden Arrows.
While there has been a possibility that he could be sent out on loan Mthiyane now appears likely to stay at Mayfair and provide options at left-back.
“All is well with me at the club,” he tells KickOff.com.
“Nothing has been said to me so I am staying which is why I am training with the first team full-time now. Since I am fit I am also ready to play and will work hard to be considered in the team."
Mthiyane arrived as a surprise signing from Chippa United at the beginning of last season and then left in January on loan to Arrows, where he immediately became a regular featuring in 17 games in all competitions.
With Patrick Phungwayo having now parted ways with Pirates the 29-year-old will compete with Innocent Maela, Marc van Heerden and utility man Thabo Matlaba, with Ayanda Gcaba and Tercious Gcaba also capable of playing in that position.
