Ngubane asked to save Thanda

Posted: 11 April 2009 Time: 12:08 pm

KickOff.com has learnt that Professor Ngubane has officially been appointed head coach of struggling Thanda Royal Zulu.

Ngubane will be assisted by head of youth development Paul Matthews after Roger Palmgren and his assistant, Ian Gorowa, were relieved of their duties by the club on Friday.   Palmgren will, however, stay on as director of football, while Gorowa’s fate has yet to be determined.   Thanda slipped into the relegation play-off place following a 2-0 defeat by Free State Stars on Wednesday and have just four games remaining to safe their season.   Ngubane has vast experience of South African football, having coached Maritzburg United, Bush Bucks, Black Leopards, Nathi Lions and the Namibian national team, amongst others.

It must be a concern that each and every season there is a kzn team trying to avoid the chop. Maybe we need to try and keep our best players till the right foundations have been built. This is even worse since we have no contender for promotion in the 1st division.

I think it is too late for that switch it was clear that Palmgren was failing, I watched THANDA live against Pirates they were not convincing at all especially on the left back where Rammile is operating, he is overweight and fat he cant run. Bt as for Proffessor work your magic, may be you can save them from the chop.
