Baroka FC midfielder Gift Motupa believes he still has a future with Orlando Pirates and hopes to return when his loan spell expires at the end of the season.
Motupa struggled for regular game-time at Bucs, making just nine appearances last season. In the season before that, Motupa made 25 appearances for Pirates and scored two goals, against Mpumalanga Black Aces and Jomo Cosmos.
He will get an opportunity to face his parent club when Baroka host the Soweto giants at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday night.
“You lose confidence as a player [when you are not playing]. But as much as you lose confidence, you also learn so that when you get the opportunity to play you make the most of it. I did not leave Pirates with bad blood. I am on loan and I am hoping to go back at the end of the season,” Motupa said.
Motupa made his debut in his second spell with Baroka on Saturday, playing 90 minutes in the goalless draw with Limpopo rivals Polokwane City. Motupa is hoping to play regularly so that he can get back to his best.
“It’s a great feeling to be home and to get game-time. That’s the most important thing, I am happy to play again. Game by game, I just need to take it easy and get myself to my full potential and be at my best. That’s what I want.”
