Bafana coach Stuart Baxter names squad for World Cup qualifiers with Cape Verde

Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has named his squad for the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers with Cape Verde.

Baxter's men will first play Cape Verde on an artificial pitch in Praia on Friday, September 1 (20h30 SA time kick-off).

The return duel takes place four days later at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban (19h00).

The national team earned a 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou in October 2016 and followed it up with a 2-1 win over Senegal in Polokwane in November in their previous qualifiers.

Baxter stayed in South Africa over the weekend as his assistant Thabo Senong oversaw the side's 2-0 loss to Zambia in Ndola in the final round of CHAN qualifying. Bafana were eliminated 4-2 on aggregate.

SQUAD:

Goalkeepers: Khune, Williams, Keet.

Defenders: Mphahlele, Mathoho, Coetzee, Gould, Hlatshwayo, Mobara, Hlanti, Langerman.

Midfielders: Kekana, Dolly, Jali, Mokotjo, Zungu, Zwane, Serero, Furman, Claasen.

Forwards: Manyama, Tau, Rantie, Grobler, Erasmus.
