Kaizer Chiefs' Ramahlwe Mphahlele says losing not an option against Bloemfontein Celtic

Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele says the title hopefuls can not afford the same start they had in the league last term.
Chiefs lost their 2016/17 Premiership opener 2-1 to eventual champions Bidvest Wits, with the Glamour Boys going on to finish fourth and record a second campaign without silverware under coach Steve Komphela.
Komphela's charges, who were eliminated by SuperSport United in the MTN8 quarter-finals last weekend, will hope to respond in their first league game of the season against Bloemfontein Celtic at Free State Stadium on Sunday (15h00).
“We can’t afford the same start as last season when we lost to Bidvest Wits,” Mphahlele told his club's website. “The Premiership starts on Sunday and we are going to fight for the championship, whatever it takes.”
He added: “We can’t afford to lose. Winning is the only option!”
The former Mamelodi Sundowns skipper insists Amakhosi are well aware of what they must rectify after spurning numerous chances in the 1-0 defeat to Matsatsantsa.
“It was a bit of déjà vu because last season we lost with the same score to the same coach [Eric Tinkler, when at Cape Town City] in the quarter-final of the MTN8.
“We reviewed and analysed the SuperSport United game during the week. We know now what we need to do better. It’s no use to cry over spilt milk. It’s actually quite straightforward, we have to put the ball into the back of the net.”
