Mosa Lebusa is embracing the pressure of captaining Ajax Cape Town in their first league game of the season against Golden Arrows at Cape Town Stadium tonight (20h15).
The 24-year-old, who has been with Ajax since 2009 and boasts over 100 appearances for the coastal outfit, has taken over the armband from wantaway midfielder Travis Graham.
Lebusa plans to lead from the front, having been tasked with the role in the past on a temporary basis for the Urban Warriors.
“It means a lot to me. Look, I have been captain on a couple of occasions in the past. I have learnt a lot from Travis and I am looking forward to the challenge,” Lebusa told the club's website.
“I have been here for almost 10 years, it has been a roller-coaster and I have experienced the highs and lows of this team. Now I am going to lead the team. It is a pressure and challenge that I welcome and I am looking forward to leading the team.”
The Welkom-born left-back added: “I will lead on the pitch, lead by example, and hopefully my teammates will follow.”
