Free State Stars midfielder Goodman Dlamini insists he has no point to prove against former employers AmaZulu.
The clubs will meet in their first league game of the season at King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday (15h00).
Dlamini in June penned a two-year contract extension with Ea Lla Koto, having joined the team at the beginning of last term following a decade of service at Usuthu.
“The preparations ahead of the new season have gone well,” Dlamini told Stars' website. “We have played a series of friendly matches and everybody is looking sharp and ready to go. We have no injuries so far ahead of the weekend match.
“I will be playing them for the first time since joining Ea Lla Koto last season. I have no point to prove. I will be playing my normal game.
“I am just keeping focus and I will play according to the coach's instruction. But it will really be nice to pick up maximum in the opening match, it just eases the pressure going forward.”
The KwaZulu-Natal-born has player netted six goals in 27 games in all competitions for the Bethlehem-based outfit.
Stars, who have appointed ex-Stellenbosch FC coach Sammy Troughton since narrowly avoiding relegation in 2016/17, on Tuesday confirmed the signings of Sello Jaftha, Bandra Ali Sangare, Kwizer Olivera, Mumuni Abubakar, Sibusiso Hlubi, Mpho Mathekgane and Bathusi Aubaas.
