The young Kaizer Chiefs midfield duo of Wiseman Meyiwa and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo are naturally delighted with their promotion to the first team.
The pair have been making a name for themselves in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge and the Amakhosi technical team has seen fit to elevate them to the senior side.
Both only 17, Meyiwa and Ngcobo have shone in the Reserve League as they consistently produced performances that belied their tender age.
They have been included in the first team squad for the 2017/18 season alongside Bruce Bvuma and Khotso Malope - both of whom also rose to prominence in the MDC.
Meyiwa, a tidy yet robust midfield dynamo, hails from Pietermaritzburg and has represented South Africa at two World Cups - at Under-17 and Under-20 level.
"I'm very happy because it is something I have always wanted, to be promoted to the senior team. It is not just anybody who gets the chance to play for Kaizer Chiefs," the defensive midfielder told KC TV.
"That itself motivates me and makes me happy. The value I am going to add is my experience in two World Cups."
The diminutive Ngcobo, who also calls Pietermaritzburg home, wore the captain's armband for the reserve team last season and has been in the club's development structures since he was 13.
"I am very happy because it [being promoted] is something I have always dreamed of," Ngcobo said. "Now that I have achieved it I am delighted and I'm going to work hard.
"In my family there are a lot of people who played soccer like my older brothers and other people from my dad's side but they didn't get the opportunity to play at the highest level. That's what motivates me and I also want to lift my family name up."
