Golden Arrows' Clinton Larsen backs MultiChoice Diski Challenge coach Vusumuzi 'Kanu' Vilakazi against Ajax Cape Town

Golden Arrows' MultiChoice Diski Challenge coach Vusumuzi 'Kanu' Vilakazi will be in charge of the first team when they visit Ajax Cape Town in their league opener this weekend.

Abafana Bes'thende head coach Clinton Larsen and his assistant Mandla Ncikazi are suspended after being sent off in the club's fiery MTN8 quarter-final loss to Bidvest Wits last week.

However, Larsen believes Vilakazi is the right man to lead the side in his absence.

"We've got our Diski coach Kanu Vilakazi," Larsen tells

"Coach Vilakazi has been part of our training every day and he has also served on the Arrows bench in the past as a third assistant.

"He knows everything about the team, he knows how we train, how we plan and how we approach the game. So he is the right man for the job."

Arrows, who finished eighth in the league last term, will ignite hostilities with Ajax at 20h15 at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.
