Orlando Pirates have started dusting off excess baggage with the termination of Donald Mokondelela’s contract following a horror stay at the club.
Mokondolela joined Pirates at the beginning of last season from Baroka but managed just two substitute appearances totalling 35 minutes before being loaned out to Chippa United in January.
At Chippa he added another three appearances off the bench in the league and had four starts in the Nedbank Cup, featuring from start to end in three out of four of those matches.
Abby Rasimphi of Liberate Resources Sports Management – who represents the 25-year-old - confirms the latest developments.
“He [Mokondelela] is now a free agent after parting ways with Pirates and getting his clearance on Friday,” says Rasimphi.
Mokondolela still had two years remaining on his contract with The Bucs prior to opting to terminate.
