Former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United midfielder Jabu Mahlangu predicts a tough game tonight, but says Matsatsantsa will overcome Amakhosi in Durban.

Chiefs will host United in the third quarter-final of the MTN8 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 20h15.

“For me as a SuperSport brand ambassador, I always represent SuperSport and I will always want SuperSport to go to the next round,” Mahlangu tells

“But it’s not going to be easy as Kaizer Chiefs has made good signings this season. They came close two years in a row. So, [I think] this is the season for Chiefs to turn it around.

“But also SuperSport, we know that we have a good team, we know how to play cup finals, and we know how to play big games. So, it’s going to be interesting. I hope that at the end of the day SuperSport go through to the next round.”

Mahlangu welcomed Chiefs’ decision to take the game to Durban.

“Actually in Durban, I think Chiefs there have more fans [than in Johannesburg]. They have a strong fan base in Durban, but I also think it’s a bit of an advantage for us, SuperSport, as well.

“I played for Chiefs and I know how [the fans] feel about Chiefs [there]. But we are capable of dealing with such situations.”
