Philippe Coutinho has reportedly handed in a transfer request at Liverpool following heavy interest from Barcelona.
The Brazil international has been a primary transfer target of the Catalan giants, who had a second bid of over £90m [R150b] for the forward rejected by the Reds.
And, despite Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group ruling out any sort of sale, Coutinho himself has seemingly made his intentions to leave Anfield for the Nou Camp known following his request for a transfer.
A close family member of Coutinho's told Sky Sports News: "Philippe [Coutinho] has tried very hard to find an amicable solution to this situation but to no avail.
"He has tremendous love for the club and its fans, but like Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have pointed out in the past, Liverpool does not let its players leave on amicable terms."
However, contradictory reports claim Liverpool have rubbished talk of a transfer request, leaving the Brazilian's future still up in the air ahead of the start of the Premier League season this weekend.
