Downs to push through Lebese deal

Mamelodi Sundowns are working tirelessly to try complete the signing Kaizer Chiefs winger George Lebese today.
According to a source close to proceedings, it is “very possible” that a deal will be struck before the weekend as Sundowns look to register Lebese for the CAF Champions League before the deadline to add players to their squad closes on Friday.
Lebese has been training with the Amakhosi juniors after the Naturena-based club revealed talks with the African champions via a statement on Tuesday.
At the time of writing this article, KickOff.com had been informed that Sundowns are still in talks with Amakhosi to bring the winger on board.
Sundowns, meanwhile, are also keen on former Free State Stars striker Thokozani Sekotlong, who is from Mamelodi. Sundowns president Patrice Motsepe is keen to have Mamelodi-born players in the squad and the club are keen on adding him to coach Pitso Mosimane’s options up front.
Sekotlong’s career has been hampered by injury and, because of this, he has not been able to fulfil his potential. He scored a brilliant goal in a heavy defeat to Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld last season and the club will be looking for more of that, if he signs of course.
“The team wants to have Mamelodi players in the team,” a source tells KickOff.com.
When contacted for comment, Sundowns’ spokesperson Thulani Thuswa remained tight-lipped, saying only: “We can’t talk about that.”
