KickOff.com has learnt that Kaizer Chiefs have sent midfielder George Lebese to train with their development side as talks with Mamelodi Sundowns intensify.
Lebese has not been part of Amakhosi's last two pre-season matches against Chippa United and Orlando Pirates and is said to have asked to leave the club.
The Mamelodi born midfielder has been linked with a move to Sundowns this coming season and Chiefs have confirmed that talks with the African Champions are in progress.
The Soweto club's football manager Bobby Motaung confirmed the talks in a statement issued on Chiefs' official website: “We have received an offer from Sundowns. However, at this stage of proceedings an agreement regarding a transfer fee has not been reached.”
Sundowns are keen to have Lebese on board and want to register him for the CAF Champions League. In fact, Sundowns want to get the deal done in the next two days, according to an informant.
Lebese struggled for a place in the starting line-up last season and is hoping that the space left by Keagan Dolly on the left side of Sundowns’ midfield will be given to him.
