Ramahlwe Mphahlele says Kaizer Chiefs are making a habit of winning

Posted: 5 August 2017 Time: 13:44

Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele says Kaizer Chiefs always play to win as they prepare to face Chippa United in the pre-season Premier's Cup.

The match will be hosted at Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium with kickoff set for 15h00 today.

“Chippa are one of the most difficult teams to play,” 'Rama' told is reported as saying by the club's official website. “They keep possession very well. However, as Chiefs we always play to win and that’s what we intent to do against Chippa.”

Tickets for the match have already been sold out as Amakhosi look to continue their strong pre-season.

Chiefs have already claimed two pre-season trophies after winning the Maize Cup and the Carling Black Label Champion Cup, and Mphahlele believes that winning becomes a habit regardless of whether the games are friendlies or not.

The right-back also sees today's match as the perfect opportunity for the squad to ready themselves for an important MTN8 tie against SuperSport United.

“It’s another cup,” Mphahlele says. "Winning becomes a habit of winning and that’s why we definitely want to get the Premier’s Cup. This will also be a big moral boast going into next week’s MTN8 quarterfinal against SuperSport United.”
