Onyango back at Maritzburg

Maritzburg United have ended the speculation over defender Brian Onyango's attempts to leave the club by confirming that the player has returned.
KickOff.com late last month that Onyango was the subject of interest from Mamelodi Sundowns that prompted the Kenyan to remain absent from United's pre-season camp.
Meanwhile, Sundowns have now distanced themselves from links to the player despite their previous interest.
As a result, the 23-year-old defender - who signed for the Team of Choice from Santos - is now back in KwaZulu-Natal and training with United.
"Brian Onyango is back and he's in the camp. He was in the camp and he's in Maritzburg currently and in the team," Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia confirms.
"I think there was speculation about him being approached by a top team in Johannesburg but the reality is that there was no finality in those matters.
"The important thing is that we all need to understand the club cannot divulge all the issues surrounding the team. Brian has stayed in South Africa and now qualifies to be a nationalised as a South African, so they were admin and others issues that he needed to take care before he comes home.
"So I made this very clear now and I trust that media will close this topic for the future."
Onyango and his teammates face Pitso Mosimane's Sundowns in the MTN8 quarter-finals on August 13 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
