SuperSport United will keep Togo international Dove Wome for the coming season, coach Eric Tinkler has confirmed.
Wome’s future with the club was in doubt after he returned from a loan spell at Orlando Pirates last season, but Tinkler has praised the form of the 26-year-old in pres-season and says he will stay.
"He is staying with us, he's still got a contract with us," Tinkler tells KickOff.com. "It’s got nothing to do with last season's performance [at Pirates], but with what he's been showing recently in training. He's got to improve his consistency, that’s all."
Wome scored four goals in 17 appearances for Pirates last season and played against SuperSport in the Nedbank Cup final, where his parent club won 4-1.
He arrived in the PSL in the 2011/12 season when he signed for Free State Stars, and later also had a season at Mamelodi Sundowns, before joining SuperSport in 2014/15.
Matsatsantsa open their season with an MTN8 quarterfinal against Kaizer Chiefs on August 12.
