AmaZulu coach Joey Antipas is looking to new signing Michael Morton to provide Usuthu with some midfield stability as they prepare for re-entry to the topflight.
Having bought their way back into the Absa Premiership with the purchase of Thanda Royal Zulu's status, AmaZulu have made significant improvements to their squad.
Antipas doesn't feel as if the KwaZulu-Natal-based side are done in the market just yet despite the capture of Morton and cited the need for experience at the back.
"I think we still have to do some work in beefing up the team," he said. "I think we need someone of a bit more experience at the back and I think we'll be okay.
"I also think a guy like Morton can lead us in the midfield. Hopefully we can get our combinations right by the time we kick off the season."
Meanwhile, the former Zimbabwe international coach is mindful that all eyes will be on his side this coming season due to the nature by which they gained promotion.
Antipas maintains that patience is needed whilst AmaZulu adapt to the rigours of the topflight.
"You've got to handle that pressure. This is a massive club, massive followings, expectations are there," he said.
"So we just have to stay calm and try and deliver the goods for them.
"My message to the fans, I'd say be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day so just be patient with us and we'll deliver for you."
