Posted: 31 July 2017 Time: 11:43

Ambitious National First Division side club Royal Eagles have signed Richards Bay captain Boikanyo Komane on a one-year deal.

The 24-year-old was instrumental in seeing Thanda Royal Zulu promoted last season, making 29 starts for the side that would eventually sell their status to AmaZulu.

Komane will now hope he can now repeat the feat with the club he represented during the 2014/15 season before making a move to KwaZulu-Natal rivals AmaBhubesi midway through the 2015/16 campaign.

Eagles chairman Sbu Mpisane confirmed the signing to KickOff.com, clearly please to have resigned the defensive midfielder.

"Komane has signed for Royal Eagles FC," Mpisane says. "He was out of contract and he decided to come back where he belongs and sign for one season."

Komane scored four goals for Thanda last season as they romped to the NFD title, winning it by a record 12-point margin.
