Parker backs “solid” Chiefs

Match-winner Bernard Parker says Kaizer Chiefs are looking “solid” ahead of the new season afetr their 1-0 victory over Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Champions Cup on Saturday.

Parker netted after 10 minutes having been set up by Gustavo paez, and Chiefs went on the retain the trophy in an entertaining game of football.  

Parker says the victory will provide a boost in confidence ahead of the new season, with Chiefs set to meet SuperSport United in the MTN8 quarterfinals next month.

“It was a boost for us on the field and I’m happy that we came out with a win,” Parker told SuperSport TV.


“With my frontline, we created a lot of chances, we tried to break quick and we did, but as we got into the final third we can be a little bit more ruthless, just 10 percent more and we would coem out with a lot of goals.

“But other than that, it’s a learning curve for us, we are looking good and looking solid. This year we want to achieve our goals.”
