Orlando Pirates midfielder Mpho Makola says they need a positive start to the 2017/18 season sees no better way to do so than by beating Kaizer Chiefs tomorrow in the Carling Black Label Cup.
The clash between Pirates and Chiefs is scheduled to take place at FNB Stadium, with kickoff set for 15:30pm.
“We need to start well. If you look at last season, we lost in the Carling Black Label, which summed up our season. It just showed you were we started off hence our season was so bad,” Makola tells KickOff.com.
“So going to this Carling Black Label Cup we need to stamp our authority and show the fans how serious we are this season – like really mean business this season.”
Makola also said everyone is positive and ready for the new season, which he promises to be better than the 2016/17 season.
“Everyone looks to be positive. Everyone looks ready to go. We set down as players and look at the mistakes we made last season. So, it’s something that we not going to make this season. So, we're going on everything we made wrong last season and hopefully we will do well this season,” he says.
