Amajimbos coach Molefi Ntseki says his side failed to play to their strengths in COSAFA Under-17 Championships defeat

Posted: 28 July 2017 Time: 17:19

Amajimbos coach Molefi Ntseki believes his side were weighed down by expectation and didn't really play to their strengths as they crashed out of the 2017 COSAFA Under-17 Championships.

Ntseki's side were haded a 2-0 semi-final defeat by hosts Mauritius in Port Louis on Friday.

“Congratulations to Mauritius, they deserve the win," the coach told SAFA. "We still have a long way to go before reaching the objective we want."

"I believe we were more worried about winning the match rather than playing to our strengths. My players made mistakes, but it the kind that you expect from their age group, and I strongly believe they will learn from all this experience.

"I am confident the future for our team is very bright.”

South Africa will now face Malawi for the Bronze medal in a 3rd/ 4th place play-off clash this Sunday.
