Andile Jali was in action for Belgian side KV Oostende on Thursday night in the UEFA Europa League

Andile Jali was in action for Belgian side KV Oostende on Thursday night, but could not help his side avoid a 4-2 defeat to French Ligue 1 club Marseille in the UEFA Europa League.

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knolwedge Musona was on target for Oostende, but the Belgians were ultimately undone by a hat-trick from Marseille’s Valere Germain.

Jali played the full 90 minutes having come off a fine pre-season for Oostende, and looking to get his career at the club back on track after an up-and-down 2016/17 campaign.

He would have hoped to make the group stages of the Europa League, but faces an uphill battle, though a 2-0 win would be enough for Oostende in the home leg of their tie with Marseille next Thursday.
