May Mahlangu played for Dinamo Bucharest in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday

May Mahlangu played the full 90 minutes as his Dinamo Bucharest side held Soanish La Liga outfit Athletic Bilbao to a 1-1 draw in their UEFA Europa League clash in Romania on Thursday.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder has emerged as a key player for Dinamo and is hoping to get them into the group stages of the Europa League this season where the likes of Arsenal, Lyon and Bongani Zungu’s Vitoria Guimaraes await.

The Spaniards took the lead through Aymeric Laporte, but Dinamo equalised in the second half via Rivaldinho, the son of Brazilian legend Rivaldo.

The 22-year-old Brazilian made his debut for Dinamo last season and will have been especially pleased to get on the scoresheet with his father in the crowd for the match against Bilbao.

Dinamo will now face a stern test away from home in Spain next week if they are to win the tie.
