South Africa Under-17 head Coach Molefi Ntseki is expecting plenty of fireworks when they face Mauritius in Friday’s Cosafa U17 Championships semi-final.
Amajimbos earned their place in the last four with a 5-3 win over Madagascar in the final round of Group B fixtures, setting up the clash against the hosts, who topped Group A after defeating Malawi 2-0.
And, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s Stade Saint Francois Xavier encounter [13h00 kickoff], Ntseki says his side are ready to give their all as they look to secure a spot in the final.
“I want to firstly congratulate the players for their strong character. We have had our fair share of challenges and they have dealt with situations very well. I know that for many of them this has been a first time experience and I am really proud of how they have managed to cope,” the coach said on the official Safa website.
“Tomorrow’s clash [Friday] against the hosts will provide fireworks. We have done our homework on them and believe that we can win the game in open play.
“We have practiced penalty kicks, however, I would prefer for us to win the match in the 90 minutes.
“We will stick to our strengths and ensure that we continue using these matches to reach the objective we have set for ourselves as the technical team."
