Free State Stars have confirmed the departures of three players as coach Sammy Troughton continues to rebuild ahead of the start of the season.
Troughton on Monday explained the club's decision to part ways with striker Thokozane Sekotlong, while KickOff.com yesterday revealed that Prince Okumu was also headed for the exit door.
Ea Lla Koto have since confirmed both players' departures, as well as a third in former Kaizer Chiefs defender Simphiwe Mtsweni.
“I can confirm that we have released another three players namely defenders Simphiwe Mtsweni, Kenyan Joseph Okomu and utility forward Thokozane Sekotlong," Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena told his club's website.
“The club wish the players the very best of luck in their future endeavours.”
Last season Sekotlong netted seven goals in 19 starts, while Okumu made just eight starts in all competitions and Mtsweni failed to break into the team.
