KickOff.com has learnt that AmaZulu are preparing to swoop for SuperSport United midfielder Michael Morton.

Morton is thought to be open to a move away in order to gain more game time after Thato Mokeke's return from loan at Cape Town City forced him out the starting XI.

And, according to a source close to the Usuthu, the Durban club are hoping to sign Morton, as well as an unnamed United goalkeeper on loan for the 2017/18 PSL season.

"Amazulu have approached SuperSport United with the intention of signing Michael Morton,” the source tells KickOff.com.

"They’re also looking at getting one their [SSU’s] goalkeepers on loan this coming season,” he adds.

Meanwhile, Amazulu have handed former Kaizer Chiefs defender Simphiwe Mtsweni a trial.

Mtsweni, who is currently a free agent, was afforded a run during the friendly match against Baroka FC in Durban on Tuesday.
