KickOff.com has established SuperSport United have signed Sanele Nene, with the youngster to be drafted into the club's Multichoice Diski Challenge team.
The 19-year-old central defender is, unfortunately, out injured at the moment but will feature in Matsatsantsa’s reserve team once he has fully recovered.
Nene joins the few players from the KZN Academy who have gone on to sign with PSL clubs, with others being Luyanda Ntshangase at Maritzburg United, Brian Hlongwa and Sandile Mthethwa at Orlando Pirates, as well as Menzi Ndwandwe, Sbusiso Magaqa and Dylan Stoffels at AmaZulu.
Nene will now be hoping to use the MDC as a platform to get the attention of head coach Eric Tinkler, who signed Siyabonga Nhlapo and Prince Dube this week.
“Sanele has signed a one-year contract with SuperSport United. He will start playing in the MDC team when he's well from his injury,” Nene's father, Sandile tells KickOff.com.
“As a father, I'm very happy as he has been frustrated because of his long-term injury but we thank God for helping him every day. We as a family are extremely delighted.
“We’re also confident that he's going to go far in his football career - we are very certain for that.”
