South African players are trickling back into action for the 2017/18 seasons in Europe. KickOff.com has a brief round-up of how they fared over the weekend.
It was a disappointing outing for Mahlangu, who was subbed with 20 minutes to play as his Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest lost 1-0 at home to Botoșani. He had opened his campaign with a win last weekend.
Mayambela suffered the anguish of defeat as he started for Swedish second-tier side Degerfors in their 3-2 home loss to Trelleborg. Mayambela’s side had been 2-0 up but conceded twice in the last 10 minutes to lose.
Ralani started for Swedish second-tier side Helsingborg as they defeated Örgryte 1-0 at home to stay third in the league. It has been a good campaign so far for the experienced winger.
Moloto netted for USA third-tier club Swope Park Rangers in their 2-0 win over Seattle Sounders 2. It is his third goal of the season.
The former Bidvest Wits midfielder was a halftime sub for Scottish second-tier side Livingston as they won 2-0 at home to Airdrieonians in the League Cup.
Jacobs played for Scottish second-tier side Queen of the South as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hamilton in the Scottish League Cup. Hamilton won the penalty shoot-out 6-5, though Jacobs netted his kick.
