New Platinum Stars signings Sibusiso Mthethwa is confident he has joined a team that can achieve success this season.
The former University of Pretoria defender earlier this month penned a three-year deal with Dikwena, and is determined to taste success with the Rustenburg-based side.
“With the quality that we have here, we can be successful and achieve whatever we want to achieve,” he tells his club’s website. “If we set one call and we all focus, we can do it. I want to win something with the team.
"I believe the club loves quality and there's quality here. I am confident that we can have something. I can promise that we are going to win whatever we want to as a team if all of us are of one mind.”
The former Tuks skipper is delighted to be back in the Absa premiership after plying his trade in the National First Division last season, and is thrilled to team up with former defensive partner Mwedihanga at Stars.
“I am so happy that I joined Dikwena,” he said. “I am so determined to work hard for this team. I am happy to come back to the PSL. It was hard to comeback but I am here.
“I am happy to reunite with Willem. We haven't played together in one season. At Tuks we played just the second round together. I believe that we can do well.”
Mthethwa hopes to catch the national team selectors’ eyes now that he is back in the big time.
“I am happy to be in the team,” he said. “I just want to win things. As every player in South Africa wishes to play for Bafana, I also wish to play for the national team and I believe that one day I am going to play for Bafana.”
