Travis Graham has been told to train away from the Ajax Cape Town first team

Ajax Cape Town captain Travis Graham is being forced to train alone at Ikamva after refusing to sign a new deal with the Urban Warriors.

The 24-year-old midfielder previously informed KickOff that he was looking to enter into an amicable discussion to leave the club he joined as a youth product.

It does, however, look as though things have turned sour between the player and the club.

“I’m working closely with the club to find out the best way forward for both parties,” Graham said in an interview with recently. “I’m still being very professional about matters as I’m still contracted to the club.

“I’m coming to training as per normal. I have massive respect for the club and everyone here. The last thing I want to do is to burn bridges with them.”

KickOff has learnt, though, that the respect is not being reciprocated as the Ajax hierarchy have forced Graham to train apart from the first team squad.

The midfielder has also not taken part in any pre-season friendlies with his name left off all match-day squad lists.

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt is known to be an admirer of Graham’s robust qualities as a holding midfielder with the PSL champions keen on his services.

SuperSport United were also previously linked to Graham last season after Ajax admitted that they wouldn’t stand in the player’s way if the right offer came along.

Ajax CEO Ari Efstathiou was not available for comment, as he is currently in Greece.
