Eagles keep door open for Monama

Royal Eagles will welcome Raymond Monama back if he fails to secure a PSL club while they have parted ways with former Orlando Pirates ace Isaac Chansa and ex-Kaizer Chiefs winger Sula Matovu.
Monama has attracted attention by scoring 11 goals in 27 appearances last season. He combined strongly with NFD Golden Boot winner Sedwyn George, who has since joined Ajax Cape Town.
"Raymond Monama made a request to try his luck elsewhere because there are teams who have been showing interest in him in the PSL," Eagles general manager James Dlamini tells KickOff.com.
"But we decided to open our hands for the boy that he can go try his luck and we told him, 'If things don't work the way you expect them to be you'll still be welcome at the club.' Following the good season he had at the club, our hands will still be open for him to return.
"But if he finds a club, our chairman Sbu Mpisane gave him blessings of success if he'll be going because he did a good job with us last season."
Chansa and Matovu have not been retained, having joined the second-tier club towards the end of last season.
Eagles have recently signed Mphakamiseni Nene, Nkanyiso Madonsela, Cleopas Dube, Diego Brown, Bafana Nhlapo, Joshua Sauls, Dumisani Tau and Mazwi Mncube.
