Chippa United boss Siviwe Mpengesi is confident Mark Mayambela will impress on his return to the Chilli Boys.

As was revealed on KickOff.com, Mayambela on Tuesday penned a three-year contract with United from Ajax Cape Town.

“We are delighted to have him back in Port Elizabeth to finish what he started,” Mpengesi told his club's website.

“Chippa United will give him a platform to fulfill the potential he showed in his early years in the PSL.

“The club has grown since Mark left and we have different objectives now.

“We have no doubt that he will add value to the growth of the brand, on and off the field.”

The former Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic playmaker previously spent six months with the Chilli Boys in 2015, scoring twice in 10 Premiership starts.

The 29-year-old then had a brief stay at SuperSport United before reviving his career at Ajax last term with three goals and two assists in 22 league outings.

Chippa have also recruited goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo from Pirates ahead of the 2017/18 season.
