Maritzburg United have confirmed that they have parted ways with former Bafana Bafana international Bryce Moon.
Moon only joined Maritzburg at the beginning of last season but following a disappointing return the club has reached a mutual agreement to go their separate ways.
The 31-year-old started just two games all season but was substituted in both and then came on from the bench in another four matches giving him a total of six appearances all campaign.
His overall number of minutes played for the season stands at 178 and although he was hampered by injury during the early stages of his stay with the Team of Choice he never really lived up to expectations even once his struggles with fitness were behind him.
“We have done a mutual termination with him [Moon] based on what he gave last season which wasn’t enough,” Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia tells KickOff.com.
Since returning to the country seven years ago after a spell in Greece – Moon has played for Golden Arrows, SuperSport United, Bidvest Wits, Mamelodi Sundowns, Platinum Stars, Mpumalanga Black Aces and Maritzburg.
His most productive years were at Ajax Cape Town, where he started his career as teenager, before he moved to Superleague giants Panathinaikos.
