Black Leopards confirm Jean Francois Losciuto to remain on as Lidoda Duvha head coach

Black Leopards have confirmed that the matter between the club and head coach Jean Francois Losciuto has been settled and that he will continue with his duties for the coming season.

The Belgian tactician joined Lidoda Duvha in November 2016 on the three-year deal when the club were sitting 13th in the NFD table, replacing Sello Chokoe and going on to inspire a third-placed finish in the league.

However, KickOff.com last month confirmed that the former Nigeria assistant coach had verbally resigned from his duties at Lidoda Duvha after the final game of the 2017 PSL Promotion Playoffs, against Baroka FC, before he jetted off for holidays.

Leopards, though, were only willing to accept a written resignation, although upon his return to South Africa, the parties appear to have worked out their differences and the relationship will go ahead as previously planned.

“He [Losciuto] is back in the country and it has been three or four days now. He came back on Thursday [last week] and his first training session was also on Thursday so he has been back since Thursday,” Leopards’ finance manager Rendani Thidiela tells KickOff.com.

“He hasn't said anything in writing that he was still resigning. He's training the guys and there are no talks of [his resignation), that was after the playoffs.

“So I think everyone is just looking forward to the new season and our focus this season is on finishing in automatic promotion.”

When asked if Losciuto is showing signs of happiness at the club's training sessions since he's back following his intention to quit the club, Thidiela responded: “It's like you at your job: you'll leave [if you are not happy] so everyone is happy to have him back.

“The technical team, with the two team managers, and everyone is happy to have a new team and we are assessing the guys currently.

“Usually when players are coming back from the season break they look heavy, so we are just busy with assessments and other things, so everyone is happy to be back.”

As previously revealed by this website, Losciuto will have a new assistant coach in Abel Makhubele after Sealotse “Sly” Mosala left the club to be the new assistant coach at Free State Stars.
