SuperSport United reserve goalkeeper Boalefa Pule is placing a premium on collecting caps for Bafana Bafana.
Pule competed at the recent COSAFA Castle Cup and is also in the squad due to play in the CHAN qualifiers, starting off in Francistown against Botswana on Saturday afternoon.
While 13 minutes of game-time is all he has to show for his six years as a PSL player he now has two senior national team caps.
“Obviously, first of all it is important for me as a player to keep playing because like any player I want to play,” Pule tells KickOff.com.
“Most important it is a great opportunity for me to represent the country, to also raise my hands to the coaches and say I am also available for qualifiers for the big stages. I will believe every player will view this competition as being very important because you are donning the national jersey. So for me it is just an opinion because football is a game of opinions.
“And for me as an individual this is a great opportunity to represent the country. For me it doesn’t matter, even if it is a friendly as long as I am representing my country it counts. I think we all play football so that at one stage we get to represent our countries, which is what I am doing now. A cap is a cap regardless of the competition,” says the former youth international keeper.
Pule is set to earn his third cap by keeping goals today at the Francistown Stadium (15h30) with the younger pair of Steven Hoffman of Platinum Stars and Khulekani Kubheka from Mamelodi Sundowns providing competition.
