Orlando Pirates announce the signing of goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands as a free agent

Posted: 13 July 2017 Time: 13:36

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper and free agent Wayne Sandilands.

The gloveman departed Mamelodi Sundowns upon the expiration of his contract in June and had been courted by Maritzburg United but, as revealed by KickOff.com on Wednesday, the Buccaneers swooped in with an offer of their own.

Sandilands has since put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Pirates ahead of the 2017/18 PSL season, with the Soweto giants confirming the news on their official Twitter account:

Sandilands posted a farewell message to Mamelodi Sundowns on Twitter: 'Thank you yellow nation for all your support over the past 7 and half yrs, it has been a privilege to defend your colors and make history.'
