Cape Town City owner John Comitis cited new signing Teko Modise's 'football intelligence' as the reason for being so keen on the 34-year-old's services.
Comitis shared these sentiments in backing up his claim that a player of Modise's calibre "cannot be ignored" after his club snapped up the free agent.
The Citizens confirmed yesterday the former Bafana Bafana midfield general had signed a two-year deal with the club.
Comitis, who is currently on vacation in Greece, was understandably satisfied with landing another high profile player.
“Teko brings football intelligence,” Comitis told KickOff.com in adding to his recent statements about finding a way to accomodate the veteran in a midfield already brimming with talent.
Meanwhile, Comitis has also expressed his joy after Lebogang Manyama and Aubrey Ngoma were rewarded for their efforts at the recent PSL Awards ceremony held at the Sandton Convention Centre on Monday.
Manayama walked away with the Player of the Season, the Players Player of the Season as well as the Golden Boot awards, whilst Ngoma picked up the Midfielder of the Season accolade.
“I’m absolutely elated,” Comitis told our website. “This goes to show what you can achieve if you put in hard work and you're passionate about something.
“I want to say to the players keep it up and lets build on last season’s success."
