South African international winger Luther Singh has had his first run-out for the Sporting Braga first team when he played in a 2-1 friendly win over Penafiel.
Singh joined the Portuguese club in January, but spent the second half of last season playing for their B side that campaign in the country’s second-tier.
Since rejoining the club for pre-season he has trained with the first team, and was a halftime substitute for the club against Penafiel.
Singh, who represented South Africa at the 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, also won his first senior cap against Equatorial Guinea in March.
He had a stellar 2016 with Swedish second-tier side GAIS, which alerted a number of clubs across Europe as to his qualities.
He chose Braga, and will hope that the 2017/18 campaign is his breakthrough season in the Portuguese top-flight.
Braga finished fifth in the league last season and will play in the UEFA Europa League this campaign. They enter the third qualifying round alongside the likes of English side Everton, Andile Jali’s KV Oostende and Italian club AC Milan.
