Siyabonga Nhlapo leaves future in Bidvest Wits' hands amid SuperSport and Bloem Celtic interest

Posted: 12 July 2017 Time: 14:12

Bidvest Wits defender Siyabonga Nhlapo says he will comply with whatever decision the league champions take regarding his future.

Straight after returning from a six-month loan spell at Highlands Park – Nhlapo appears not to be a priority with Gavin Hunt who has agreed to release him for the two-legged CHAN qualifier against Botswana, a fixture that falls outside of the FIFA calendar.

There is little doubt that Nhlapo will not be playing for Wits in the new season with SuperSport United having now emerged as the most likely destination.

“My agent is working on a deal and that is no secret,” says Nhlapo whose services are also being considered by Bloemfontein Celtic.

“He [agent] and the CEO [Jose Ferreira] of Wits are working hand in hand. I am always a co-operative player and I do what I am told. I am always ready to move and just like I have been told to come here after they got the call from the manager and the coach I came here. What I have been told is that I will know what is happening next when I return from the national team. For now my focus is here in the national team and whatever the case I should know what will happen next when I return to the club. For now I am focusing on the national team,” explains Nhlapo.

The 28-year-old remains under contract with Wits for another year. He had a bizarre campaign last term playing for both the league champions and a team that eventually got relegated.
