Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Brandon Petersen focused amid overseas interest talk

Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Brandon Petersen is flattered by reports of overseas interest in his services but insists he remains committed to the club.
Petersen says he is focused on the the Premiership season ahead following recent talk he is demand, both locally and abroad.
“It’s always flattering when there’s interest from other clubs in your services,” Petersen tells KickOff.com. “Especially if there are clubs in Europe that’s chasing your services as that is any player’s dream to play abroad, you know.
“The reality is that I’m here at Ajax and that I’m very committed to the club. We’re currently busy with the pre-season and that is where my focus is at the moment.
“I cannot wonder what could have been or what must still happen. We at Ajax have objectives and that is where my focus is at the moment.”
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old is embracing the competition for game-time he faces from fellow South Africa youth international Jody February at Ikamva. Petersen reclaimed the number one jersey from February towards the end of last term, making 10 league starts in 2016/17.
“Jody is pushing and challenging me for the number one jersey and this keeps me on my toes. We’re still learning from each other and the understanding between us is very good. It’s really healthy competition between us and our spirits are high.”
